Jesse Colin Young dead at 83: Youngbloods frontman passes away at his home in South Carolina
Youngbloods tenor Jesse Colin Young, whose catalog included the 1969 anthem Get Together, died Sunday at 83 at his Aiken, South Carolina home. The singer-songwriter's death was announced by his publicist Michael Jensen, The New York Times reported Monday. Young sang the chorus of the song, 'Come on people now/Smile on your brother/Everybody get together/Try to love one another right now,' which the newspaper described as 'one of the best-known refrains of the 1960s.
